Water Boil Order Terminated - Thursday 10/4
Ware Water Department
October 4-5, 2018
Attention Ware DPW Water Department customers. On September 28, you were advised to boil your water, since E.coli, a fecal indicator was detected in a sample from one of our water sources.
Since that broadcast announcement, Ware DPW Water Department has installed a disinfection system that is achieving 4-log removal of viruses, as directed by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP). The proper and adequate operation of the disinfection system has been confirmed by two clean rounds of samples collected this week.
Based on our corrective action and these results, MassDEP lifted the boil water requirement today, with certain conditions related to ongoing monitoring for chlorine residuals and bacteria, and additional disinfection system upgrades to be performed, such as the installation of alarms chlorine analyzers, etc.
YOU NO LONGER NEED TO BOIL YOUR WATER.
For more information, contact the Ware Water Department at (413) 967-9620. More detailed information concerning system upgrades is available in the public notice to be posted on our web site: www.townofware.com
