The Town of Palmer is hosting a Passenger Rail Study Charrette on Saturday, March 16th from 9 am until 12 pm. The charrette will be facilitated by Dr. John Mullin of the Center for Economic Development at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. The Charrette will be held in the Palmer High School Cafeteria and light refreshments will be offered. This event is open to the public, but requires registration. Please RSVP by contacting Sarah Szczebak at (413) 283-2685 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
A charrette is an intensive planning session where citizens collaborate alongside project leaders on a vision for project development. The event provides a unique forum for ideas and offers the advantage of giving immediate feedback to leaders on the project. This Charrette will be focused on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats as they relate to the development of a Passenger Rail Stop in Palmer. The Charrette will end with a discussion of goals and action strategies.
